EAST CANTON, Ohio (April 22, 2009) – FireNetOnline (FNO) members have privileges, and so can you when you become a registered member. Registered members of FNO have full access to technical and user-level stories contained in the “Content” section of the website.
Included in the Content section are stories written by Nick Markowitz, a long-time trade journalist, alarm technician and professional witness. In addition, you can freely read past published stories written by Al Colombo, a nationally recognized trade writer in the security and life safety industries. John Pecore, engineer and owner of Stormin Protection, also offers helpful information in the Content section as well as others.
FNO also carries newsletters penned by National Training Center (NTC) of Las Vegas as well as Michael Baker, NICET trainer.
At the heart of the FNO organization is its Forums. FNO was created for the expressed purpose of networking and sharing information. Through the FNO Forums members are able to post information, ask questions, as well as help others who need advice. Select moderators work to seed their Forums with interesting news and information and they stand ready at any time to assist other FNO members in any way they can.
There are three basic sections under which a number of Forums reside. They are: 1) Administration, 2) FireNetOnline, and 3) Security Mission. Under these three headings you will find more than 22 sections covering both fire protection and security.
Registered FNO members also have full access to every sort of communication provision built into the FNO organization’s web portal. Private Mail (PM) enables one member to confer with their colleagues in a private manner. When you click on the PM button in relation with a member’s posting on a Forum, or if you press on the PM button on their profile, a new window opens up in FNO that allows you to write a short or long message. There is no limit as to how long a PM message can be.
Included in the communication mix is Electronic Mail (EM) via the Internet, only e-mails are never revealed on the website. Your privacy is of utmost concern to FNO, so this special communications function allows you to receive e-mails without the sender knowing your private e-mail address. A provision in the registration form also allows you to hide your e-mail from public view, which really means the EM button does not show up in relation to your name.
As a registered member of FireNetOnline, you also have the benefit of a public profile, if you should decide to use it. If privacy is of concern, only provide what FNO requires when you register, which means no one will really know who you are. FNO Administration, however, may at some point contact you in order to verify your identity, in which case you will be asked to provide basic information about your vocation, general location, company, and such.
As mentioned before, your privacy is assured with FNO and at no time will your personal information be given to a third party entity. We work hard to assure your anonymity on FNO. Those who wish to use the opportunity to promote vocation and personal career are welcome to provide as much information in your personal profile as you wish. FNO will at no time require it. FNO reserves the right to deny FNO membership to anyone without explanation.
If you’re a professional in the life safety and/or security market, we invite you to become a registered member of FireNetOnline. To do so, go to www.FireNetOnline.com and look for the Login box. Simply click on the link that invites you to join FNO. Follow all the directions, provide just as much information as you want and within minutes you’ll have access to all of the above features, including our Web Links section.
